E-Way Bill

An electronic document required to move goods above a threshold value across India, generated on the GST e-way bill portal.

An e-way bill is a mandatory electronic permit for transporting goods whose consignment value exceeds the prescribed limit (commonly ₹50,000). It links the invoice, the parties and the transporter.

It is generated on the official e-way bill portal before movement begins and carries a unique EBN (e-way bill number). Validity depends on the distance to be covered.
